ABOUT LIGHT A CANDLE ANGELINA
Over the years I have had several friends who have had breast cancer. Their courage, in dealing with what is a frightening condition is inspiring to say the least. Through my friendship with these remarkable women I watched them deal with the difficulties of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. I heard their voices asking questions about what would happen to their children if they were left without them. Their voices were filled with a love of family, a desire for life, and the sense that nothing that we have is permanent and that life is a thing to be savored while we have it.
It is because of the stories of these friends of mine that I was inspired to write the song “Light a Candle Angelina”. I have myself no personal experience with breast cancer and so I can only say that I am hoping that I captured at least some of the feelings of those of you who have had your own struggles with this disease.
Because I consider this song a gift, and to honor my friends, I am offering it here on the web site as a download in exchange for a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The recommended donation is $1.00 but you can donate as much or as little as you are able.
If you are a one of those who have had an experience with breast cancer feel free to share briefly your experiences in the comments section of this page. I would love to hear from you and I am sure that others who visit this page would as well.

This was so beautiful. We had the whole family listen, because this is an issue we should all try to create a message about. The song really told an emotional story so many people are going through.
Thanks so much Lauren -Every little bit donated helps in making the lives of these women better.
